Here are a sample of resources that we use at the Duluth Vineyard for the needs of our community.
- Leadership Basics (and Teaching Notes)
Our hope and prayer is that God will use this time to help you understand a biblical perspective of leadership and possibly help to identify your readiness to be a part of our leadership community. While going through this class doesn’t make you a leader or guarantee you a position, we hope it will help you understand Christian leadership better. This is a 4-week leadership course.
- IRTDMN (Identify, Recruit, Train, Deploy, Monitor, Nurture)
In order to be an effective Leader of Leaders, you must be able to IRDTMN them!
- Yearly staff evaluation
At least once a year it's important to be evaluated as a staff, so we take time to have yearly performance reviews. This helps us determine if we're reaching our goals and objectives that we set or if we need to make adjustments. This is filled out by the overseeing Pastor.
- Yearly staff progress review
It's also very important to rate yourself and your progess as a staff member. We have staff members fill this out prior to their evaluation so they can share their progress with their evaluator.
- Weekly staff report form
Each week each staff member has a coaching meeting with their overseeing Pastor. We use this form to show what we're actually doing with our calendars, to ask any coaching questions, and share prayer requests.
- Staff meeting forms
We meet as a staff every week and use this form to guide our meetings. We got the idea from the book Death by Meeting by Patrick Lencioni and have found it to seriously impact the productivity and flow of our staff meetings.
- Community, Cause, Corporation
Because we work for a church, we have 3 different "hats" that we wear; we are a community, we are a cause, and we're also a corporation. This is exciting, but often challenging at times to balance these different roles. Learning to wear different hats at different times (and knowing when others are wearing a different hat!) is incredible helpful and necessary.
- Relating to the opposite sex in ministry
We need to learn how to relate to others of the opposite sex during ministry. We use these expectations to hold each other accountable.
- Process Managing Church Size by Tim Keller
We have found this article by Tim Keller incredible helpful as we've moved through different stages of church growth.
