Andrea Martinez
Immigration Attorney
Andrea is an immigration attorney who has been practicing law for over ten years. She owns an immigration law firm in Kansas City, Missouri and focuses her law practice on family-based immigration petitions, humanitarian immigration cases, and removal (deportation) defense. Andrea assists asylum-seekers fleeing persecution in their home countries and applies for visas for immigrants who have been the victims of crime or human trafficking in the US. She is a passionate advocate for immigrants who is frequently on TV and radio discussing immigration-related political issues. She currently serves as the vice-chair of the Missouri-Kansas region’s chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Andrea feels called by God to defend immigrants and refugees as they are a vulnerable population specifically set apart by Jesus in Matthew 25 (“I was a stranger and you welcomed me”). She graduated law school at American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, DC in 2007 and then went to work with International Justice Mission (IJM) as a legal fellow assisting in the prosecution of child sex offenders in Guatemala. After working with IJM in Guatemala, Andrea returned to the United States to serve as a federal judicial law clerk at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC. Andreaand her Honduran husband Jorge have two children (ages 5 and almost 3) who they hope to raise to be Jesus-lovers who are empathetic, kind, and bilingual!
